“So partnering on projects for Melanesian Women Today has been a wonderful combination of these interests in education, women’s health, and environmental stewardship.”
Colleen Huck is a paraeducator and service learning coordinator at Odyssey Middle School on Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA. She has a background in environmental policy and maternal/infant health, so partnering on projects for Melanesian Women Today has been a wonderful combination of these interests in education, women’s health, and environmental stewardship. This year she arranged for students to participate in service projects to fundraise for MWT scholarships for girls in the Solomon Islands, as well as an invasive weed pull through Bainbridge Parks Foundation to to raise funds to ship books to a school in Papua New Guinea. Colleen loves to witness students enthusiasm for connecting with and sharing their love of learning with students on the other side of the world!
